Thanksgiving 2007

"Give Thanks"

Tyson and I shared our first Thanksgiving! We had a great time. The celebration started the Sunday before Thanksgiving with MY family. We met at Tio Eric's house and had a great thanksgiving dinner - we even ran out of Grandmas famous potatoes :) After a fantastic meal we danced (of course) and we also exchanged the cousin Christmas present. A lot of my family is going to Nicaragua for Christmas, so we decided to celebrate Christmas early. We had a HUGE table that was set with nice china and decorations. We had a great time. Tyson and I got two new movies - Hitch and Saraha. Thanks everyone

On Thanksgiving Day, Tyson met up with my brothers, cousins and some friends for an good -old' Turkey Bowl. They started our as touch football, but by the end, it was all tackel!

From the football game Ty and I headed up to Logan. We arrived just in time for Thanksgiving dinner (At noon). We had Grandma and Grandpa Gerber with us. We ate turkey and Debbie made the BEST yams! I do not like yams but I was in love with hers!

After dinner we watched "The Ultimate Gift" and talked about what we are grateful for. We talked about the freedoms we shared, the little luxuries; ie warm water, clean water, fresh milk, religious freedom, warm clothes, health - it was really neat to listen to all of our little thank you's.

The next day, we slept in, fixed some apartments, delivered pizza and sent off present to a soldier in Iraq. It was a great day.
Saturday, Tyson rounded some of his buddies and played football again, but this time he really hurt his shoulder :( He had to be in a sling all weekend but is recovering well.
Needless to say, Thanksgiving was fantastic. We are so blessed to have wonderful families and wonderful friends. To all the people in our lives, we say Thank You, for being you. Here's to a fantastic Holiday season.

Happy Birthday Mom's!

As luck would have it both Tyson and my mom's birthday is the on the same day! November 9th. We woke up early and sang to both mom's. That night we were able to go do dinner with my mom and Fredy. We took my mom to Tapenyakkys - she loved it! She loved the chef and even attempted to catch a shrimp in her mouth :)

What makes this outting even cooler is that when we walked into the restaurant we saw Tyson's cousin and his wife from Idaho! We chatted for a minute until the called our name for the table - and guess who we sat with! His cousin! We all shared the 10-person table and had a great time. Landon even tried sushy - not his favorite but he still tried it.

After dinner we hung out and watched HGTV and enjoyed our night. Tyson's mom was sick on her birthday but we made sure she knew we loved her.

A very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best mom's in the world. They deserve the best!

We love you!

Viva Las Vegas

Tyson and I headed down to the Primerica Convention held in Vegas and what a trip! We left Friday and came back Saturday. Ursula and Annette drove down with us and we had a great time going down. We stopped in St. George and ate at Chili's, got and oil change and enjoyed the awesome weather. We even saw Brandon Niels new Mercedes on our way down (we took a picture)
We made it to Vegas around 5 pm and visited Tyson's family that lived down there. Tyson and his dad were able to give a blessing to his aunt that was really sick in the hospital. After we drove down to the Lexis Park Resort to get a good parking spot for the convention. We decided to take a stroll on the strip and hit the Belagio water show (It was the Pink Panther :) A funny moment happened when my friend Margie, who lives in Vegas, was trying to meet up with us. We told her to meet us at the corner of Flamingo and Vegas Blv but when she got there I had to run to get into her car in the middle of traffic! Tyson, Ursula and Annette met us around the block. Margie was SO fun to be with.

The convention started at 7:30 and it was a packed room! The energy was electric. We heard from the companies top winner and they were all fantastic. They shared stories of winning, of pushing through the hard times and of the dream that is possible. My heart just swelled with pride to be part of such an amazing company. You could just feel the desire to win in the room!

After the speeches came recognition and Tyson and I got it! We got our Division plaque, as well as the top Premium for the state (ask me what that is in person :0 ) We loved it! We walked up on stage, gave high fives, met the top producers in the company - it was amazing. We felt so proud of our hard work. Tyson's parents (Debbie and Gaylan) also rocked the house and took home over SIX awards! They are studs! The meeting ended at 11 pm and then it was on to the after party. Since Tyson and I got Team Leaders Position, we went to the "after party" and mingled with the top producers - amazing!

Ty and I stayed at Margie's house and had a great time chatting with her. She is coming down to Salt Lake in two weeks and we are going to go on a double date. The next morning the excitement continued- more classes, more motivation, more success stories and more recognition! Tyson and I got Golden Eagles for reaching Team Leaders Spot. It was awesome. we had so many of our good friends there - Margie, Brian and Emily Halley, Brandon Nielsen, Heather and Kendall - it was the best feeling to be winning as a group.

We eat at the Sam's Marten's Buffet in Vegas and headed home. We got back to Salt Lake around 12:30 midnight. We were super tired but excited and ready at the same time. Tyson and I are LOVING where life is going. We feel so blessed! We are headed down to St. George in January for another convention and our goal is to be Regional Leaders by then :) We will do it!
