Brunch at the Grand America

My parents invited the family to have brunch at the Grand America and lets just say its nothing less of amazing. Besides being a five star hotel, the food is just delicious. Tyson just kept saying "Wow! Wow! Wow!" everytime he saw a new station.

My favorite was thePrime Rib and their bread pudding with rum sauce - you have to try it! Tyson went crazy on the King Crab Legs with butter and chocolate crepes. It was great to be surrounded with family as such a nice restaurant. I'm grateful for parents that want to make us feel important and high class.

After our delicious brunch, we walked around the Grand America and looked at all their shops. My nephew Andrew went crazy with all the Christmas decorations. We took looks of pictures next to their Christmas tree.

Thanks Mom and Fredy. We love you.

A Very Merry Gerber Christmas

I'm officially a real Gerber and have now taken part of the two most important holiday traditions 1. The Gerber Family Christmas Party and 2. The Gerber Christmas. It all started on Christmas eve where we all jumped in the car and helped "Santa" make visits to all the boys and girls in Logan. We played games and read Christmas stories during the two-hour slide ride.

When we got back to the house, we took pictures with Santa and we opened up our first presents - PJ's!! Now for most people this is nothing new, but for me, this was my very first time getting PJ's for Christmas and I was so excited! I wore them almost the entire day. Debbie picked the cutest pink and brown colors. Thanks Debbie.

After PJ's, Gaylan told us the tradition from Holland about St. Nick and how all the kids put out a shoe for St. Nick to fill up with goodie, and you better believe we put our shoes out. Now I don't know how it happened, but by 11:30 pm, we checked the shoes and they were filled with fun toys and candy and I still have no idea who did it.

By 11:15, I was already falling sleep, so I decided to go to bed while Ty and Strat played video games. The next morning Ty was up at 7 am to see what Santa brought him - I stayed in bed until 8:30 :) Around 9 am we finally got into the family room and started opening presents. We each got a stocking filled with candy, toys, funny gifts and an orange (meaning we were good.) Ty got some new socks and a new shirt and an iPod. I was totally spoiled and not just got some new shirts but I actually got a CHI straightner! Heaven! I was so excited.

30 years of Christmas together

The big surprise came when Debbie gave Gaylan a hot tub right outside their room! It was the perfect size and he was so happy!

After presents we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma for a nice Christmas lunch. After lunch we headed to see "I Am Legend." The movie was well done and Ty loved it, but by the time it was done I was dying to get my food storage done.

After the movie, we had dessert and we headed home to play games. During our game, Chenille - Ty's oldest sister that lives in Carthage, gave us a BIG announcement - SHE's HAVING A BABY! Number 3!! It was such a fun announcement and we all gave her advice on names - boy: Alex, girl: Emma. She is due in July.

Christmas was a blast! I'm so grateful for Ty's family. They are so generous and always willing to help. Ty and I feel so blessed to have the families we have. We have been blessed with awesome parents that have taught us how to work hard and to dream bigger. We love you all.

Early Christmas

Our family is officially going through a holiday transition. Since Ty and I got married, Jael and Steve are engaged and Martin and Julio do their own things - our family has had to learn how to do the "alternative" Christmas. This year is Ty's family, next year its my family. However, since I could not totally go cold turkey from my family this Christmas, we had "mini-Christmas" on the 23rd. We made sugar cookies, we danced and we opened presents. and Jael and Steve made the family a non-traditional Christmas dinner.

We were able to get my mom the boots that she really wanted! Martin and Julio got some new contacs and I got an awesome kitchen mixer - but by far the best gift was the 48' plasma TV my mom got Fredy. He was giddy! He even did the "happy dance." The family now has entered the realms of coolness and you better believe GHTV looks a lot better in the new TV.

We had a great time with the family. I'm so grateful that even through a lot of change - good change, but change none the least - our family has really embraced the new members and have loved to see Jael and I start our own little family tree. I'm so grateful for a supportive family, whom believes in me and the dreams that Ty and I have.
