This weekend we had a big event for Primerica. It was great for two BIG reasons:

1. Tyson's dad flew out to come with us to it.
2. It was at Invesco Field - where the Bronco's play.

We were able to go outside and check out the huge stadium. It was beautiful. Tyson and his dad were able to have a "locker room" meeting with Jon Addison - CEO of PFS. He said that was his favorite part.

We were there all day Friday. We got 7 team members plus us two to go - it was our first big event in CO and it was really fun. We got recognized for top premium and top recruiting. Tyson was happy but also had his "butt burning" because he is very competative and wants to be the top - its a very healthy thing.

We had lunch at Subway/Burger King and for dinner we all ordered pizza and shared. We were there from 8:45 to 11 pm. It was intense but really great. We talked alot about investments and how amazing we really are a company. We got home at 11:30 and went straight to bed - we were so tired but really happy. Tyson and Gaylan woke up the next morning at 7:30 to be to training.

Tyson is constantly amazing me with his committment and toughness. One of the main themes of the training is that life is tough but it will always give you what you fight for. Ty is fighter. He has never been scared to stand up and go to work. I think that is one of the great qualities of great men.

Saturday was busy with appointments and then he took us out to eat at Red Lobster. We all shared two meals. After we got home and Gaylan spent two hours telling us about how he became succesful. It was pretty amazing. He is such a good man. We feel so blessed to have the Gerber name.

This week..

This week I have kept at my goal of simplifying our home. I have continued to shred and scan papers, memories and stuff into our external hardrive. Our office is looking so much cleaner! The shelves are empty and I have consolidated two of our filing cabinets into one! I have simplified my recipies, made a big bag of clothes to donate and even cleaned out Ty's candy stash. I wen to the library yesteday and got 4 books on organization and i'm loving all the creative ideas.

One area that I want to be better at is kitchen gadgets. I love kitchen stuff and yet I don't need all that stuff I have. I have decided to get rid of two pots and pans and a ton of my kitchen gadgets - I just don't need them.

This weekend is our huge conference with Primerica's CEO Jon Addison. Tyson's dad is flying in Thrusday to come with us and we are so excited to have him in town. Anytime family comes in town we are excited.

Tomorrow I am cleaning the house to look really good for gaylan. I am hoping we can squeeze the bed into the office so we can keep the living room nice.

We picked our freezer group meals last night - we got spagethi and meatballs, chicken cordon blue, baked ziti, apricot chicken and a asian dish. So yummy. This freezer group has actually been really fun.

This week has been really good thus far and it's gonna get even better! Many blessing have happened. I just looked online and Ty got paid $638! All which was passive income from clients he did last year. This is a big blessing since December and January have been pretty slow activity months. The Lord keeps blessing us and I keep thinking how lucky we are to have the gospel in our lives.

Jessica Baptism

Our good friend Jessica Moya was baptised last Sunday. It was such a neat experience. Melissa and I talked and Jon performed the baptism. She gets confirmed tomorrow.Jessica's road to the gosple was one of endurance and trials. She is a single mom and just strong as they get. I cried when she was immersed. I am so grateful for this gospel - I'm grateful I was not a chicken and gave her the Book of Mormon. I kept telling her to write this day down - I wish I remembered my baptism better.

Oh yeah! One funny thing is that one of the Elders there was from Tyson's HOME ward in LOGAN!!! What a small world.

New Years Goals

My New Year's Goals:

I forgot to write down my new years goals on my blog! This new year seems to have flown by. It's amazing how my priorities have shifted. The las three years my goals have been all business and nothing else - well besides staying thin of course. The move to Colorado has really shifted my focus. I'm still totally behind our financial and business goals - but the nesting switch was turned on. So here are my goals:

1. Attend temple monthly
2. Read scriptures daily
3. Maintain my weight of 140 lbs
4. Attend all events and opp meetings for Primerica
5. Master couponing
6. Declutter my house and maintain a simple lifestyle
7. Continue following a strick budget
8. Fully fund our IRA's and buy more PFS stock
9. Maintain a fully funded emergency fund
10. Continue saving toward our big downpayment for a home goal
11. Learn to freezer cook more efficiently
12. Get pregnant
13. Run a great PFS office
14. Run a great ESS property
15. Get Tyson SMART licensed
16. Go to the PFS convention in June
17. Save more $ for replacement car the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero

So there they are. It's a heck of a lot more homie goals but that is the season that I am in and I love it.

My latest project has to do with goal #6. I've started to scan a ton of stuff inside our external hard drive and shredding the paper copies. So far I have scanned in 200 pages or so of memories, business and just important paperwork. Pretty much all of our payments are online and we use mostly E-statements. My goal is to pretty much clear our one of my filing cabinets and instead of having two - consolidate into one.

Another goal has been to stick to a strick budget. Thanks to a Christmas gift, we were able to pay our life insurance premium in a year in a advance - saving us $100 off the total cost plus $76 a month we don't have to worry about. We also switched to a family phone plan for Walmart and that will save us $35 a month :)

Last Night

Last night was pretty great. Melissa came over and we made our shopping list, cut our coupons and headed to Albertsons. We got there and I got six jars of alfredo sauce and two tubs of peanut butter - after coupons and catalina and promotions, I paid $4.70 - that's $.58 per item!!! I was so excited for the alfredo - even at Walmart they are $1.35 per bottle. I'm hoping that this Sunday has more coupons and I can go buy 5 more alfredo and 3 more red sauce.

After our first transaction, we headed back for chicken and while talking to the meat counter manager, he mentioned he is about to knock down the price on ground beef to get rid of the extra. Not just any ground beef - 93% fat free. It was originally $2.59/lb, but we got it for $1.49/lb! That's the lowest I've seen for 93%. So I got 10 lbs! Melissa and I were pretty excited.

We got back to our home and I cooked all 10 lbs. I put them into 1.5 lbs freezer bags and store them. It is such a smart way to cut back on cooking time. If I want tacos, soup, quesadillas, spagethi or such - I just pull a bag out, warm it up and have the main dish ready usually within 10 minutes.

Learning to coupon and shop sales has been and continues to be a huge blessing. It feels great to know take care of our grocery money. Melissa is always great to come with me and loves to learn.

Tyson has been really kicking up his activities. He got two new recruits 4 days after the big event! His new recruits are also crazy and setting up tons of appointments. It's great! Tyson is so excited for 2011. He is getting so much confidence. Our team is slowly growing and we are so excited.

To Utah Again Day 2

Sunday morning we woke up and mom took us to Ihop. Then we wen to church with Julio. After church I came home and mom and I did our hairs, tried on clothes and talked.

At 6:30 I headed to Melynda's house to finish a trade and hang out with her. I played with the kids, we made cookies and ofcourse Melynda and I talked and talked and talked. We are so much alike! I drove home at 10 pm.

The biggest treat came at Midnight on Sunday. I had not seem my abuelita for a year and half. After we moved to CO she was always traveling to NYC or Nicaragua. When my mom told me she was coming home that night I jumped at the opportunity to see her. We headed to the airport at midnight and I finally saw her around 12:30. It was SOOO awesome. She looked amazing - she has amazing skin. We took pictures and embraced. She said she should be here for a while so hopefully I can see her for the May event.

We got home at 1:30 am. I had to be up at eight the next morning. I was t.i.r.e.d. to say that least. The next morning I woke up on time and got ready. Julio dropped me off at the aiport right at 8:45, only to realize my plane was delayed two hours. Julio came back to get me and we went to SLCC to look for his classes and grabbed some hot cocoa on the way back to the airport. When I got back to the airport my flight was delayed again but I just sat and read. After three hours of waiting we boarded and then came the surprise ...

I WAS UPGRADED TO FIRST CLASS!!!!

The poor fellow next to me thought I was having a heart attack when I saw my seats! I was so giddy. I txt Ty and Julio to let them know the good news. I also look pictures. The bigger seats were so comfy - although they still only gave me a cup of pop - not the full can. The ride was super smooth - we were flying at 600 mph to make up time. We landed in Denver in 48 minutes :) I have never flown first class and I was so so so excited.

When we landed in Denver, I realized all the exhaustion from not sleeping well the the last 3 days hit me. Tyson picked me up and I got home and slept from 3-6 and went to bed from 10 - 8 am. I was so tired but so glad to be home and be with Ty.

To Utah Again Day 1

Apperantly we just love to give Southwest and Frontier airlines all our money. We totally forgot that we had a big event in SLC January 7th & 8th. As a result, we got back on Monday the 3rd and Tyson drove back to Utah on Friday the 7th. I had to work so I flew in on the 7th at midnight.

The event itself was really cool. It was held at the Hilton in downtown SLC. We had more than 600 attendees. We personally had two teammates from Colorado and four from Logan. The group was small - but commited. As always it was great to see so many friends. Igor and Georgina Rocha, Phil and Heather Cochrane, Rafa and Susan Bastidas, Aimee Brunson, Jon Ogao, the Stonebrakers ... it was so great to be among such giants. We were inspired by Mark and Lizette Rolls from California, Tyson's favorite speaker was Jeff Fieldsted.

We were invited to the Team Captain luncheon and Tyson got an awesome picture award for being the top 10 Regional Leaders. After the conference on Saturday we went to Jon Ogao's office to get adjusted - he's a chiropractor and amazing. After that Tyson and the team headed up to Logan while I stayed with my parents.
