Today

This morning I watched Bryn for my friend Kayla. She "hired" me since they are moving soon and she was out of preschool. Bryn has been such a joy. Kayla has done such a great job and Bryn is sweet, caring and so cute with Sydney. I find that Sydney is now playing by herself more and plays great with Bryn.

Right now I'm up to $300 on my trailer fundraiser and I found a used Burkey on Craigslist. If all works out I will go pick it up tonight! Part of me is scared to make such a big purchase. I worry I won't like it or won't use it. Of course I've been walking to the store for over a month and I have loved it. What I need to do is getting bike pumped up.  I'm both scared and excited.

Today we went to Walmart to do price matching. The girls did really great. Sydney has been following directions very well. We play a game where we "find" certain colors. London has been really picking up her movement. She can now sit up by herself and today I found her trying to pull herself up on her feet in the crib. It makes me so happy.

Today the weather has been wonderful. We spent all morning outside. I opened the back and front door and just let the air in. It was awesome.

Dinner

We went out to dinner with out gift card we got at the Boy Scout fund raiser. We met up with the Normans and Ellis. We had a great time at Que Bueno and shared all our cheesy love stories. Katie and Dan had the best one for sure. The only bummer was that the manager totally screwed up our bills so it took 45 minutes to straighten it out. It was freezing outside too.

I took my sitter home - the girls did amazing. As soon as I got home at 1030 I was sooooo tired. I went straight to bed. Overall it was a super fun date night and the food was awesome too.

Stroller Update

So this week has been spent focusing on selling stuff on Craigslist to raise money for a bike stroller. I have been doing lots of research and finding which ones are good. Usually I would go for the cheapest ones but I know in 5 years I will probably want to sell it and want a good resell value.

I went walking with Kayla Thompson this morning and tried out her chariot. The girls did really well.  My one thing I still need to try out is actually biking with one. I have been doing menu planning for two weeks now. It's been a learning process  and I look at the menu board atleast 4-5 times a day to remind me of what I need to do and buy. I have decided that I can't eat at the deli for $5 because it stops saving me money. So tomorrow is our walking day and I will eat lunch here and then walk to the store.

The girls have been a handful in the evening. They get really cranky - mostly London even though they take 2-3 hour naps in the afternoon. I think London is teething but maybe it's just a weird season.

Life in pictures

Lately

Wow this week has been rough. Both girls are sick, have river size buggers, big time crabbiness and little sleep at nights.  This morning I couldn't get out of bed. I was physically and emotionally drained. Tyson saved me be got both girls up and fed. At 830 I struggled downstairs and just wanted to cry at the thought of dealing with the girls again.
Thankfully there have been some highlights:

A trip to Walmart
Dinner at sweet tomatoes and seeing the Romero family
Visiting the scottorns and helping them pack and purge.

So that's the reality of this very very long week.

Sick

Sydney has been sick for two days. Nothing too dramatic but a nasty cough, slight fever and lots and lots of buggars. The best is when she sneezes on EVERYTHING - including inside Tyson's mouth last night. Yup the anti bacterial wipes are out. The toilet paper roll is right next to me and we are watching lots of tv. Sydney is a dramatic sick - she cries over everything, clingy and only wants to see tv or be on the iPad.

It's exhausting and although today is Tyson's day off, he was called into work at 12. Sigh. Today will be scrapped in the "fail" category but it's ok. I also posted 4 thing in Craigslist and tomorrow I hope to post four more. Oh look - Sydney just coughed all over the iPad and my face. Living the dream:)

Little martha

My aunt Celia sent these pictures of me. Our family lost most of our pictures when we can here from Nicaragua. These pictures are some of the few i actually have. My favorite is of Jael and I. I think we must be able the age of London and Sydney are right now.

This morning

Tyson made a make-shift bowling game from plastic cups and soccer ball. It was pretty funny. London decided to knock everything down with her hands.

After London's nap we got in our double stroller going and went to king Soopers. It took us 18 minutes to get there. We had 12 items to shop for. We stopped at the deli, had some chicken nuggets and relaxed in the deli place. I loved how relaxed things were. The weather was cloudy but warm. It was so nice.

We checked out and the total was only 24! We are starting to stop price matching at Walmart since it's more hassle to get there and I usually end up buying more. This time we stuck just to the list and looked for the lowest prices. I found bread and fruit that was old and at an awesome price. We walked home and I had so much time to think and be present. I also loved that my workout was already done. It's been a great activity and my goal is to continue doing it all this summer. If I see myself being consistent on this then I would love to buy a bike trailer but well see.

Attack

Oh man this morning was tough. The girls were very needy and I had to be on the phone trying to get new auto insurance. I also was trying to get into the budget forms for our FPU class which meant attempting to menu plan - all which made me feel like I was sinking into a deep hole. I'm not sure if it was a panic attack or anxiety but my chest hurt, I could not even think straight. I bowed my head on the counter, breathed in and out and prayed. I have never felt anything like that before. It was as if all my insecurities came all at once. By gods grace I was able to step back, breath and make it past that. I knew that I needed to get out. After London's morning nap I got the girls in the car and left, house upside done and all.

We went to SAMs and the bank. We got back home and even though the house was upside down I felt totally different. Sydney went down first, then I did a super fast pick up while London played. It's amazing how much you can get done with an upbeat song and 5 minutes. At night after the girls go to bed Tyson and I can hardly stay awake but we always put on sone favorite songs and we do our Gerber pick up. It's amazing!

Cleaning up

I caught Sydney "writing" on the treadmill with her chalk. Instead of getting mad  I just said " clean it". She got a wet rag and started cleaning it. I'm going through the frustration of teaching Sydney to put her stuff away but it's hard. My patience runs thin but I know it will be worth it. It's the consistency that gets tiring. I love how London tries to help.
