February 2026

February 2026 was a really great month. Probably the most noticeable thing is just how warm Denver was. We had non-stop days of 60s and even some 70s weather, which don't get me wrong, it's nice, but at the same time we had to literally start watering our trees and yard because it was so dry. We could really use more snow, and we're hoping that we get a little bit more of that in March and April. I'm not looking for snowstorms, but definitely some storms.

A few key highlights that we had besides the weather:
  • London's birthday, which was super fun.
  • We also went to our first goldens and golden, which was really great.
  • We also were able to go to a protest for the ice and the abuse of power, which was cool.
  • We took lots of walks.
  • We hung out at home.
I can't say that it was anything too huge, but it was really nice to be outside a lot, to be in the front yard, to continue the girls' ice-skating lessons. They did successfully pass ice-skating one, so now they're ice-skating two and taking lots of walks with the dog.

March is going to be much busier because we are headed to Utah for spring break for a big 90th birthday party for my grandma. Tyson's also going in March to Vegas to have a trip with his brother and parents.

London Turns 13

Happy Birthday Sweet London.

You are officially a teenager. A few things that I have seen about you this last year. You have really grown in your ability to self-motivate to do the things you know you should do. You are awesome at cleaning your room. You’re awesome at being self-leading with our weekly Sunday night overhaul. You are really good at knowing what to do and following through on them. And honestly, it's a big skill.

You have a natural leadership to you, and although you can still be sometimes very sassy and very intense in your emotions, I can see how your mind and brain are developing to be able to self-direct earlier and faster. You are a phenomenal helper, and when you want to, you can really be so self-motivated. Sometimes we come home, and you've completely cleaned the house all on your own. That, as always, it does have to be your own idea. You can never be told what to do.

You've really gotten into doing your hair more this year. You've loved to wear it down instead of always in a ponytail, which is really fun. You've gotten into fashion this year, wanting to still be comfortable but still be cute. You've also really embraced a full year in your women’s camp and loving being part of young women's camp. And just the older activities.

As always, you still adore babies, and the biggest thing that you love more than anything else at church is being able to hold baby Arthur. You still have this sweet, sweet caregiving ability to you, which is so awesome. Your cooking skills continue to improve, and you are constantly trying new things in the kitchen. Some fail, some are big ones, but you have this really awesome ability to want to continue to grow, which is so great. You continue to grow as a friend, being willing to try new things even though it's really hard on you. I'm really grateful for it.

You are such a jokester, constantly making us laugh. I continue to have repeated confirmations of how vital you are to our family and how hell, if Father really specifically put you in our family to round us out, you and Sydney are very opposite but at the same time really helped each other grow.

You helped me and Dad grow, and I'm really grateful for you. I love you, and I'm so grateful that you are part of our family. I love you, sweet girl

love mom.

Love, Mom.
