| Poor Sydney, prepping for the unknown and the inevitable Trek-nado 2026 |
well, as June 2026 comes to a close, holy cow, there have been some major key things happening.
The start of June started off really nice and light. London started summer school, which was really fun. We were also carpooling with the Manoa family. It was really nice because they would pick her up in the morning, and I would pick him up.
One key thing that was different this year for summer school is that we then have to drive all the way to the BHMS. We finally were able to get on a bus list, so we were able to drop him off at Emerald Elementary School, and then if they got dropped there, it was so much nicer.
Sydney also started her first round of volunteering, which was such a fun experience, mostly because it made her learn to be really flexible and work with a lot of different people. It also meant that she started really riding her bike there to and from for the first time. It was a really big adjustment, but it also gave her a lot of sense of independence, which was really nice.
We went to a really fun free doggy fair and got some free cone ice. We spent a lot of time outside. Kingston has been loving all the extra walks since the girls take him on walks, and Tyson and I take him on walks. It's just nice to go and explore new places in the nice weather.
We went bowling,
went to the dentist,
had dinner with Tom and Rebecca,
did activities for young women's at Stanley Lake.
There were also several really cool rainstorms, and Tyson and the girls spent amazing time outside playing.
We did book club and got to say goodbye to Cameron, who left on her mission.
The World Cup was also happening, and so that meant a lot of freebies.
We did a BOGO at Chipotle, s
pent some time with the Blakley's, and got to spend a few nights over there.
Poor Kingston got neutered but made it just fine from there.
We found a cool new VR place and got to play there.
We also painted our house and replaced three windows. This was a long time coming. The window that was in London was the window she broke three weeks after moving into the house 12 years ago, so it's been a long time coming, but we are thankful that it got done.
London got to finish summer school and got to hang out with some friends she met there.
Poor Sydney also got to experience what we're calling Trek NATO, where terrible weather and literally three tornadoes touching down near the campsite cost them the trek team, and they had to come home after 24 hours.
As we're finishing up June 2026, holy cow, there was a lot of things that happened, and we are grateful for them, and we're excited for July
