Letter Tyson wrote me on our 15th year anniversary.
Martha,
I believe the reason why our marriage has done well is that we created a good foundation built on faith in god, friendship and love.
1. We both have faith in God. I always look to him when I need help. I look at ways that he can help me heal, and ways that he can help me become a better father, husband, and friend.
2. Our relationship started first with friendship. Sure you are outrageously gorgeous, but we built a friendship, one where we both dreamed and hoped for a better future to look forward to. I didn’t realize how much I would need your friendship through some tough years of programming. However, your encouragement has helped me become someone more than I thought I could become. Our future for our girls is secure. They will never have to worry about not having a home. We built a solid foundation, and now we can work to build a legacy. It wasn’t pretty how we got here, but I am glad we did it in a smart way, and we did it together.
3. We have always loved each other. We have been through some really tough times together. We have seen the good and the ugly. However, when we see the ugly, we take the time to reflect on the good and that helps us through. That is love. Not being quick to judge, or attack. But reflect, and give each other space to grow and become better. I love you for letting me grow and giving me the space to do so.
I wanted to wish you a 15th year anniversary. This is not the anniversary I had dreamed of when I thought about our 15 years together. However, I hope to look back on this on our 20th anniversary and thank past Tyson for pushing hard through the nights, trying to learn as fast as he could, trying to focus through girls whispers, laughs, fighting, and everything else that came with it. I will look back and thank past Martha for being up to the challenge in helping me get where I am. Helping us get our girls to where they are at because we are both able to provide well for them and get them the educational help they need, emotional help they need, and time that they need with us.
Thank you Martha for loving me. You are such a wonderful woman. You are hardworking, mentally tough, super woman of hectic girls that will also become super women, But for now their little hectic super girls. They are so lucky to have you. I am incredibly lucky to have you. I appreciate the walks we have together and the conversations that we have. I love when we laugh together. I want to have more of that. Maybe we just need to invite Iuliana over to the house more often. Hahahaha…
Well, unfortunately, I have a lot of homework to catch up on. So I will end it here. I love you, I can’t wait for the next 5 years and all the adventures they will bring!
