First Day Of School - 2019

1st Day Of 2nd Grade - Ms. Rushitti

1st Day of 1st Grade - Mrs. Welch

We made it to the school year. The 2 weeks before school started were pretty fast and furious - going to Utah for the funeral, my parents visiting, going to Glennwood ... all were amazing experiences but the 1st day of school really hit us in the face :) But we were still SO excited!

I implemented a few new routines that I think are really helping out.

1. Socks in the mudroom. We always fight about socks and the girls hate going down to get them. So I know store them in the mudroom. Easy and the no fights since then.

2. Pre packed snacks. We are using ALL our small tubberware to fill with snacks on Sunday's. So that way the girls each pick up 2 snacks at night they I am not worried about it for the entire week. It's been awesome. The girls fill up the snacks on Sunday and the week goes great.

3. After school checklist. The ONLY homework we have is to read for 20 minutes and I am so thankful. So I made a checklist for each girl after school and they must complete it all before we watch a show. It's been great because I am not the bad guy anymore. London still freaks out but I stand strong! I am loving it so far.

We have already had 2 rough days with London at school - I wish I could say it does not bother me - but it does. It's so hard to have a child that bucks the system and you get complaint calls from the teacher. We are working with London but it's such an exhausting thing to be terrified of your teacher's emails lol - at least Sydney is loving her teacher and is having a great 2nd grade.

I am also loving the ability to really start working out again - last week I went to 3 classes and walked 2 times and could tell such a difference! So excited.

Abuelita and Papa Come To Visit

My parents came to visit August 6th - 10th. We crammed SOOO much into 5 days.

First on Tuesday, Tyson took them to play mini-golf with the girls. I worked until 1 pm and then hung out.

We hit the national root beer float day and headed to the Children's Museum. We got to go to their awesome new obstacle course and my parents loved it!

Wednesday morning we headed to Glennwood Springs. We stopped at Vail and had a great time walking around. After a few hours, we went to Glennwood Springs. The Glennwood Canyon was AMAZING!

We checked in, walked around and went to the pool. Thursday we hit the Adventure park. We loved the Gondola and all the rides.

Friday, we checked out and we went to the famous Hot spring pool - the girls loved the new slide and lazy river. We relaxed and stayed warm in the pool. We took showers and headed back to Denver. We got back at 6 pm and went to dinner with Tyson.

Saturday we hit the Wheat Ridge Parade and then the Bubble Fest at the Orchard Mall. After we came home to rest. We hit Costco after and then after we put the groceries away, we went to the airport.

I. Was. SOOO. Tired.

It's like we went non-stop for 4 days straight. I loved it and we made amazing memories.

It's so fun to have family come visit!
