Father's Day 2017

Father's day was so relaxed. After a super busy week with things pretty much everynight, we took Friday night off, Saturday night off and all of Sunday.

It was stake conference - so it was nice to just got and listen. We went to the zoo on Saturday day and spent 3 hours there. We found the sweetest play area - I am so excited for it!

After church we ate pulled pork sandwhiches, brocoli and rice. Then we watched the Lego Batman movie again. After that, I took the girls to the park for 1.5 hours and gave Tyson a good break to do whatever he wanted.

We came home, gave the girls a bath and then we all hung out until bedtime. I worked a little and got ready for the week. So it was super relaxed but wonderful.

Tyson got two fun gifts from the girls from school.

Speaking of school, we are on lesson 28 of the Teach Your Child To Read In 100 Lessons. Sydney is reading full sentences and yesterday during the conference she wrote her first full sentence. It's been really neat for her to want to learn. We never really push her - we take the weekends off, but we are excited for her. On Saturday, she read to Baily, a dog at the library. She loved it!

Tonight we are finishing up the firepit section in our yard and we will roast our first one's this weekend.

Ah Summer

It's been a great summer so far. Tyson is busy with work but loves what he does. He gets home around 7 pm every night. The girls and I have been busy riding bikes, going swimming, doing the reading program, playing at the park,  going to farmers market, visiting library ... we spend a lot of time outside. I am full force in my electric bike. I am also really loving jazzercise. I go 3-4 times per week and I can tell my body is changing. It's officially hot outside so our yard work has slowed down a lot. I just hope we can finish it soon. I hate projects being left undone. I've also started to read more - I've read 4 books so far this summer, just fun easy fiction reads. Tyson has taken the girls each on daddy daughter days and both girls have loved it - even though its just ice cream and visiting Best Buy.

Summer 2017 Happenings

Today is National Donut Day - so we hit Lamar's donuts and each got a donut. After we went swimming for 45 minutes before the rain came in. We left a the perfect time. This summer so far has been focused on our latest yard project - the retaining wall. We started this about 3 weeks ago. At this pace we will work on it about 1.5 months. The first row was the hardest but now it's moving quicker. We are also building a firepit and the girls are SO excited to get go "camping" in the back yard.

Sydney and I have also started the Teach Your Child To Read In 100 Easy Lessons - we are on lesson 17 and Sydney is doing great. It take us 20 minutes  per day and we take weekends off - but she is excited for it.
