End of February Happenings

The final weeks of February were awesome!  We had a really smooth time coming back from vacation - which is always a worry for me. We had some fun highlights.

1. The girls did their 3rd STEM fair at school. London got 2nd place (only 2 people entered in her grade) and Sydney's grade had 5 entries. So Sydney got the Participant Award. Either way we really enjoy when this is over - ha! But it's really fun to see the girls excited for their projects.

2. We celebrated my birthday - 37 years old! I kept telling Tyson that this year I felt really understood.  Iuliana got me an AWESOME toilet paper holder. Debbie got me a seated laptop stand and Tyson suprised me with an Instant Pot DUO crisper and a funs scanvanger hunt. All of these were really simple but present that REALLY got me. It was so nice!

3. The girls attended Emilia's birthday party at the Ninja Nation Gym - so so cool! Even Tyson tried to "Get that Wall" but it was not successful :)

4. We are *this* close to being under 100K in our mortgage. So I printed out a cool poster from someone in a Dave Ramsey Group. I had her put 106 little houses. It's big! We will keep it in our closet - and the funny thing - it totally has Tyson and I fired up!

Florida 2020 - Tyson's Recap

Arrived Wednesday at 4:00am. We took a night eye flight at 12:30am. We got to Fox Rental and it was pretty bad. It took about 1 1/2 to get our car. We only had 3 people in front of us but they only had 2 people and they were incredibly slow.

We got a Toyota Corolla. It had an incredibly weak engine. It was hilarious as it would rev super high and not speed up very quickly at all. Dad and I had a good laugh about it. It got great gas mileage.

We got to Mom and Dad’s around 8am. Mom made the girls pancakes. Martha slept and worked while Mom and I went to the beach with the girls.

We went shopping that night at walmart to get bedding and food.

Dad and I watched the USU basketball game.

Thursday: I woke up early and went for a run. It was beautiful. I ran along the beach on the side cement sidewalks. I was shocked as it was harder than I thought to breathe since the humidity made the air thicker. I enjoyed seeing the sun rise and the palm trees and warm weather were all amazing.

After I got back Dad and I prepared to go on our fishing trip. There is a pool where they have people draw cards. One guy drew and Ace, I drew a 10 with another guy. So I was in line for #3 and my dad was #5 with a 6. So the guy with the Ace (Donald) would get the first fish, next guy would get the next draw, then me, etc... well, we didn’t have that great of success. As we were going in we got a snag. And Donald was kind and as he pulled in the fish he said, “where’s Tyson at?” And wanted me to pull it in but the fish was already at the top of the water and it was his catch so I told him to go ahead and pull it in. It was a little rinka dink fish. LOL... a little bigger than my hand.

Though we didn’t catch that many fish, we saw lots of jelly fish, and some really cool flying fish. They were so fun to watch jump out of the water and then they would fly just above he water and we would see which one would go the furthest. We saw probably around 75 or more. Dad and I had Coca Cola, m&m’s, twizzler bites.

Martha, Mom and the girls were right there waiting for us as we came back. Sad to tell them that we had failed. Hahahah.. I really enjoyed it though.

We then went back to the house and then headed to beach.

After the beach we came back and ate at my favorite Chinese restaurant. I ate my moneys worth in sushi and the girls ate the Chinese noodles, strawberry and pistachio ice cream.

Then we went bowling. Martha and my mom went to go get an air pump for the air mattress. Dad and I took the girls to go bowling. It was $10 for all you could bowl. The girls got their own lane with bumpers and felt all grown up with their own lane. Dad and I bowled on the other. I won the first game, Dad won the 2nd and 3rd. I won the 4th and Dad took the championship. It was close though 146 to 142. There was a group of guys next to us that all worked together. They would all pitch in a dollar and then whomever won got the pot.  Dad and I were tired and bowled ourselves tired as the bowling rink was about to close in 5 minutes. There was one small skinny tall guy AJ and he was barley winning the group. He was on his last frame and he got 9 out of 10. He was so upset. He had one left to spare it out and he got it. Yelling Im a closer! Im a closer. It was hilarious. All the guys giving him a high five. (This whole time the guys were cheering for us if we got a strike or cleaned up. We would do the same) well he finished at 110 others were close 92, 96. The last guy was this big fellow. Not sure his name but on the screen his name was BIG. He was a funny African American. He was on his last frame with 60. He was the worst player out of all his buddies only had one spare the whole game. He goes to bowl and throws it down, strike! He starts yelling out, I’m a closer, I’m a closer! Everyone giving him a high five. He goes up for his second bowl. He chucks it down, Strike!!! It shows DOUBLE with two XX on the screen. Everyone cheered louder, high fives flying and a couple guys laughing in unbelief. I started a chant, Turkey, Turkey, Turkey! Everyone else joined in. He goes up grabs his green ball and concentrating now. Winds up and lets it loose everyone was engaged just watching this ball it looks perfect. It hits the pins and all fall it one which wabbles and falls. It was crazy we all stormed the floor jumping up and down hugging, and high giving a complete stranger. Hahaha. It was epic! He unfortunately did not beat AJ but I think ended up at 98. It was hilarious and made our night.

As we were leaving we saw the captain of the fishing ship we went on that morning. He stated, I hope you guys are better bowlers than you are fisherman. I laughed.

Friday: we all slept in, mom made cookies with icing with fruit so we could decorate our own. The girls loved it. After breakfast we headed out to the pirate ship. It was really fun. The captain talked about Captain Jack Sparrow, he hates that awful skally wag. He was African American guy and said my name is Captain Black Sparrow. He had great character. Mom and Dad got bandanna’s for the girls, eye patches and swords. They felt like pirates and loved it. On the boat they had cannons that would spray water, there was another ship with Barnical Bill and they fought him and sprayed him. He soaked all kids especially the adults. Hahahah... it was great. The day was perfect as it had cloud cover enough not to be too hot. We also saw the homes of the guy that made Trojan condoms, Tiger woods, the guy that made the switch for windshield wipers. Gets paid $3.50 per car ever made, lady that went to jail, and the guy responsible for the house market crash and bailing out banks.

We went to the beach and then listened to the band that played.

Sat: Martha, my Dad and I went to the Florida temple. It was beautiful. Dad, Martha and I went to Golden Coral. They had cotton candy dad and I had a bag, then Martha, my Dad and I all took one to go for Sydney, London and Mom ðŸ˜ƒ. Mom took the girls and took them to the beach or pool and then to McDonalds. We met up to go see homes that were for sale. 2 that were 5.7 million. One was a Rome type look with amazing ceilings and half naked men all over the place. He just took a job as the CFO of Microsoft in Seattle Washington. The next one we like was only a mile or two from my parents place. Right on the inter coastal water way. Very modern and it was beautiful!

Then we came home

Sunday: we went to church, relaxed at home, went to see Martha’s cousin Francis.

Monday: convinced Dad to go fishing again with me. We went early and luckily we did because only the smaller fishing vessel was going out that day since it was Presidents’ Day. It was CRAZY BUSY. No seats left and everyone was getting tangled at first. Lol... I got a bite and pulled up and it was a good fight then all a sudden my pole goes straight down and I was pulling up like crazy and I was really excited but there was a tangle and they said to wait. Well, when I pulled my fish up it was half eaten. They said it was probably a fairly decent shark because that fish or half fish I had left was about 5-6 inches wide. Bummer.. too bad he didn’t bite the whole fish! Hahahah.

They had to throw my other half of my fish away. They don’t let you take it if it is half eaten. We had 3 people catch small sharks. My dad caught a yellow tail snapper (we could keep) and a red squirrel fish. They yelled out, don’t touch that it’s poisonous! It was pretty but had to throw it back. I caught (not sure on my half eaten one), a blue runner and a trigger fish. There was one guy that caught a king fish and another guy hat had something big. He had a 40 pound line and it pulled all his line out and then snapped because there was nothing left. We were all bummed out. We wanted to see what he got. When we came back this time we had something to show the girls. 3 actually.

We took them home and mom showed us how to grill them. I was very surprised how good the fish tasted. Fresh fish is amazing! No fish smell or taste it was great!

We then came home swam in grandmas pool, then went to the beach. We came home showered and went to my favorite restaurant again and had sushi 23 pieces. Plus tons of other food. I was hungry and Mom and Dad were asking where I put the food? Hahaha.

Came home and prepared for packing to go home the next day.

Tuesday: woke up and headed out to return the Fox car rental. Fox car rental was short on people again. Good thing we did leave when we did. We were parked outside the spikes and 4 cars behind us. They didn't have their people that pull the cars forward yet and parked 4 cars wide back to back and only had about 2 rows left till they ran out of room. TSA was busy as well. Had a line that wrapped around. Pretty crazy. But we moved really quickly. Plane got delayed about and hour and now I am on the plane going home.

The girls loved chi chi so much. Hugging her, walking her. Laying down with her, feeding her, picking her up and taking her without her will. Poor chi chi but happy girls.
