May 2025

 May so far has been really great. The weather has been wonderful and we've had a lot of sunny days so we've been able to restart our nightly evening walks and it just brings me so much happiness. Yes, most of the time I am walking around my robe, but I am surprised how quiet it is and how good it feels to officially transition into our nighttime routine. London has been playing and having lots of play date with her BFF – Mila Mila is such a sweet girl and I am so thankful that London and her are friends London is also preparing for her final concert and dance recital in June. We have the side of that after this performance we are taking a break for the entire summer and even the fall. I have mixed feelings about this because I love watching London dance randomly outside and in the house it brings me so much joy. But London has requested for a good 34 months to take a break and I just think it might be a good thing for us to step back for a little bit. The hard part is that her dance company requires a full year commitment so it's a lot easier to start it than it is to end it. 

Sydney is also doing great. She loves hanging out with her friends. She is really excited for this summer to come and go to summer school and go to FSY with Abby and go to Utah. This will be a big year because this will probably be the final year that she goes to Nathan's camp and even then they might only go once or twice a week to keep them a little busy. Sydney is actually super excited about the possibility of getting a job and has talked about possibly working at Chick-fil-A or urban air since the next summer, she will be almost 15 and we hear they hire young workers. Tyson and I so far are really focused on work and it's been really great. I've been really focusing on learning ChatGPT and helping my work become better and faster because of it. It's interesting to think that this could be the next revolution of technologies such as when people started using the Internet.

Sydney also had 3 teeth pulled this Month. It was her first time using Gas at the dentist and she said she did not remember anytime! It was super quick. It took like 5 minutes to get them all out. now we can finally get their 2nd set of braces added in the fall 

Mother's day was so so chill. Thanks to feeling yucky a lot of days (due to cramping and stomach pain) - I slept in, Church was easy, Then I helped Tyson clean the LoveSac Couch. It was our first time cleaning it and it was quiet a task ... BUT it felt so good to have it clean. The girls did the cutest cards! They both really went above and beyond to make it .... SO cute. 

The weather has become much more stable. So this weekend we have been spending a lot of time on the hammock, going on walks, and just enjoying the weather. 

We are at the final week of school! Boy this year has been really great. Both girls have really blossomed and tackled new things. I am so proud of them. The summer will mean summer school and then next year Sydney is going to be in 8th grade! She will be in Leadership 360 and dance and doing Spanish at the high school. 

London will be doing dance, possibly Dream Team. But my biggest win is that London has found some really great quirky friends. She are all lovely and it makes me so happy. 

both girls have rocked doing Sunday Night Overhaul and they are just taking more and more ownership of what they need. 

We have attended a few graduation parties and cheering on the people who graduated. We also attended a few baptism for church

On Memorial day we ...

The final Saturday we headed to see the new 16th street project downtown- each girl got to take a friend and we had a great time taking the train, walking and visiting the vendors. London won a toss game and got a new bike helmet for Tyson. We also got hockey sticks and also some "cooling towels." We ended May by going swimming and hot tubbing at Gwens pool before she leaves. 

We also got to see Kingston for the first time since dropping him off. He was at our house for 3 hours on Friday. And honestly, it was exhausting. He peed like 30 times in that time and bit Tyson in the nipple. We were all worried about him and maybe that is what was so exhausting. Tyson is still loving him - but I walked away feeling pretty overwhelmed. 

Final day of School - May 2025

 

The final day of school was super laid back :) London got to get out early and hang out with Mila. Sydney came home and relaxed. The next day we had a fun "root beer float party" with friends and plaid corn hole and hung out in the patio. The weather was lovely - so we wanted to take advantage of it. 

Both girls are officially in Middle school - and honestly they are both really thriving. They are each paving their own path with new friends, new hobbies, new executive functioning skills. We still live and die by our routines and systems - so that we very rarely have "fire moments" or feel like school was too much. I am proud of all of us for staying consistent, embracing change and making it. 

April 2025

 April so far has been great. The first weekend was spent with General Conference. We invited some families over for Waffles and doing a puzzle. 

Sydney had her big Dance performance on 4-4-25. She did amazing and was part of 3 dances. London helped as "Stage Crew" and she also help sell concessions. 

We got our patio all set up and its been amazing to have our hammock outside. I've taken two naps already! We also helped Sarah Hamman pack as she moves to Utah in the middle of the month. 

London had her Little Mermaid performance and she did so good a part of the Jelly Fish. This was a very different performance than usual - but it was really entertaining. 

 We also did some fun picking out books at Barnes and Noble with gift cards from Christmas. We also had a great April Fools Day - the girls did some really cute pranks. 

Overall the weather has been lovely and we've even charged our bikes to get going on the biking season.

Work is going well. I am taking some AI classes and learning a lot. Tyson's work is also moving along. 

We had a super chill Easter this year. And it was wonderful. Church was one hour - wahoo! Then we came home, we had ham, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We tooks naps, we just chilled at home the entire day and we loved it! 

I did laundry, I cooked 4 meals, took a nap. We still hid eggs for the girls the night before and we event went all over the inside/outside. It was cute. 

One thing we have been doing is riding bikes in the evening again. I love this tradition. 

We hung out with the Blakelys' and hit the temple on April 26th. It was really fun and relaxing.

Sydney went to her first Stake dance with Abby - and they had a blast! 

We also made a BIG decision ... and looking to get a dog. We found a mini Golden Retriever in Kentucky and he has stolen our hearts. More details to come.
