We made it to Christmas!
It's amazing how the Christmas season came and went. Some things were so different and others were totally the same.
For me work was really busy all the way up to Christmas Eve. But thankfully Tyson had been off from December 21st - January 3rd. He helped pack everything and wrap presents.
Christmas eve was really relaxing. We started by doing some service and helping a young couple move out of the ward. Tyson played games, the girls played with friends and I went on a 6 miles walk. The sun was out and it was just lovely. I came back and took a shower and did some decluttering. For dinner we got together with the Ashby's. We had favorite's night and we bought Sushi, hamburgers and Panda Express.
We all shared food and then we played spoons for an hour. We laughed so hard! Poor Andrei had to eat a spoonfull of wasabi.
We got home around 9 PM, got ready for bed and put the kids to bed. Thankfully we had just a few final presents to wrap. We were in bed by 11 PM.
We continued the tradition to hide all our gifts (14 total) and so we left a note for the girls to find the present.
At 7:15 AM - the girls got up and took about 40 minutes to find all the presents. Then Tyson and I got up, got ready, and headed upstairs.
We slowly did stockings from Santa. Then we slowly opened all the other presents. It was so relaxing and so fun.
The girls got their new bedding, some stuffies, and lots of things for the Florida trip.
Christmas morning, the Blakely's came over to brunch and hanging out. Then we went on a nice long walk and then to the park. Then we made and decorated cookies. It was really chill.
The next day we took a trip for the first time to the Garden of the Gods - in Colorado Springs. I can't believe that it took us over 10 years to come to see it. It was AMAZING. The rocks were stunning, the colors were so pretty and the girls loved to climb all the rocks.
