Well, 6 years into it and we have finally redone our kitchen. The planning started January 2021.
We ordered our cabinets April 2021. We put them together and started the breakdown in late April 2021. Then May and June were filled with half ripped kitchens, no ovens, no microwaves, lots of eating out, late nights and swapping many many many hours with our neighbor - Joe who helped us install the cabinets.
Our goal was to surprise everyone that came for London's baptism on June 12th. I thought we were going to do it in two phases and not be done until July - but then Joe sold his house super fast and we realized we would not get it done if we waited. So Tyson had an ambitious goal to have it all done by June 10th. It was crazy! The night before we had Tyson, Joe, Iuliana, James and I working until super late. Tyson and I stayed up until 2 AM to get things done. DANG!!! It was like an HGTV episode.
We used Prime Cabinetry to buy the Ready To Assemble Kitchen. We used a local person to do our quartz countertops and we bought everything else from Home Depot.
We also paid James Floyd to come help us install a wall of kitchen, the sink and some other small stuff. Katy Ellis helped me finalize my design and gave me amazing clarity on how to make it really really awesome. She was amazing.
Overall the kitchen cost $15,000. Which from what we hear is amazing because we replaced EVERYTHING.
I really took time to think about "living" in the space, which is why we have some odd things - like 2 microwaves, 2 garbage cans, all drawers ... etc
But now that we have been living with it for 5 months - we did everything right. Our work flow is so much better. Our hots spots are pretty much gone and we just love it.
Our big wall of new cabinets looks like it's been there forever and our space actually feels so much bigger.
This was a massive project. We could not have done without Joe and although it was really hard and tough - it was such a worthwhile project.
