This year we had an amazing 4th of July.
In the morning, we attended the Highland Community bike parade and party. We got there at 9 am and the girls got to decorate their bikes. At 930 the parade started. We were on the front portion right by the drum band - it was sooooo cool. Sydney was waving at everyone like parade princesses lol
Then we stayed for face painting, free food, stickers, live bands ... it was such a great atmosphere.
We got home around 1 pm and were really tired. So we all took naps.
Around 3:30 pm we started to get ready to attend a BBQ/Swimming part with the Ashby, Grip and Blakely family.
It was so fun! We all got into the pool - even me. The weather was great, the food was amazing. I even got to give the girls a shower.
We got home at 845 pm and noticed our neighbors 4 doors down (Amanda and Parker) were doing fireworks and invited us to join. So the girls got to do sparklers and have fun. Then at 915 we went in the back and sat at Ryan Elementary and saw the Westminster and Broomfield fireworks - it was pretty awesome.
I loved the 4th of July. We had some adventure but mostly stayed close to home - which I loved.
Some other fun things happening in July are that the girls finished the library reading program, we have been riding our bikes a lot. London is also doing the "Teach Your Child To Read in 10 Easy Lesson's" and is on number 43. I am not being as strict as I was with Sydney but I am happy she is learning sounds.
