New Years Eve 2022

The week between Christmas and New Year was really fun. We had our end-of-year business planning at Great Wolf Lodge. My kids loved it!

We stayed for two days while I worked, did end-of-year planning, and looked over business finances.

The girls spent over 10 hours at the pool - they loved it. They also did the ropes course, mini golf, mini bowling, we ate yummy food and just relaxed. They also took me on a terrible Tornado Ride - I was SO scared I was shaking.

The night before we came home - there was a huge snowstorm. We got 9 inches of snow. So we came home to a lot of shoveling :)

New Year's Eve - we hit Costco for lunch. We had the Gores, the Frey, and Elli's come over to eat and play games. Everyone was gone by 830 PM. We cleaned up super fast. I was in bed by 940, I called my mom to say Happy New Year.

Sydney stayed up until 1030 and London/Tyson made it to midnight.

It's just a nice, quiet, safe, and fun Holiday season. I can feel my body needing more rest, more gentle movement, and better food ... I can feel that my sugar intake really made me feel yucky.

So I am excited to get back into the routine, spend more time outside, and get our "Disney Walking Training In"

Looking back at 2022 - I am so thankful for stability, health, and slow progression toward goals. Having Tyson in school has really forced me to slow things down and it's been a big lesson. A lesson to know that we are ok without a lot of activities. This was the first year we have not done any outside activities for the girls (like gymnastics, swimming ... etc) Instead we have opted out to have them do a few classes offered through the school - so that I don't have to drive anywhere. This has proven to be super helpful. This is our last year to do it - since next year Sydney will be in middle school.

2022 has reinforced the benefits of my early morning routine, minimalism, and living an intentional life. I have also really come to grips with turning 40 in 2023.

So I am thankful for the lessons of 2022 and hope 2023 brings joy and growth!
