Sick Baby
Sydney was sick for the first time last Thrusday - Saturday. It sucked. She was doing great on Thursday when we headed out to the park for a play date. It was during her 11 am feeding that I noticed she was not eating and she was getting hot. I stripped her down to her diaper and took her home early. She had a tempeture of 101.6. I immediatly gave her fever medicine and kept her super light clothing. She slept for an hour.
She woke up and was miserable the rest of the day. She would not sleep except in my arms. She was burning so it made me super hot. Tyson gave her a blessing Thursday night and her fever died down but she continued to struggle to sleep. She woke up at 8 pm, then 11 pm, then 130 am, then 230 am and finally went down. She woke up at 630 much better but still really tired. We stayed home and tried to sleep and eat more often. It was hard to see her little eyes all red. All she wanted was to be held. Friday night she slep much better and only woke up at 230. Saturday she was 90% back to normal.
She started really swatting her right ear alot. Most likely all the liquid mucus got some into her ear canal. We have been giving her ear drops and cleaning her nose so she can breath better.
It's been hard. She just wants to be held and I am so tired anyway that we are all tired. Poor Ty has been a huge help but he gets tired too. Cooking had left the house because we are all too tired to even entire the kitchen. Sunday night after a weekend of sick babies, church callings and house cleaning, the entire family was sleep at 9 pm. Sleep is the best helper to get better.
It's times like these I so wish we lived next to family. It gets lonely when the only one's that can help are exhausted themselves. I love living in Colorado but miss family alot right now.

Kinda Sick
I was feeling way sick last week. It's the first time I have felt sick since Sydney has been born and it kinds through me for a loop. It's hard because even though I'm not my best, she still wants all attention. We spent alot of time on the floor hanging out.
I also notice some small bumps on her bum. Maybe from the bananas we introduced, diaper rash or both. The thing I have always leaned on has been lots of air bum time.. This particular day I just let us sit and let her little tush air out. She did'nt mind one bit. I bet she will hate these picures in the future but I can't get enough of her little cheeks!

Fun Facts:
1. You found your voice and BOY do you let us know it. You scream, squeal and everyone can hear it. You squeal when your happy. You squeal when you sad and specially when you want to be held. Noone can deny when you are done with a certain activity.

2. You are now eating solid foods twice a day - breakfast and mostly dinner. You tried bananas and got lots of little bumps so we stopped using them. You are still a champ with pretty much everything else. You continue to love veggies way more than fruits.
3. You are all of the sudden started to get up early - like 6 am early. Thankfully you are just as happy to play in bed until 630 when mom and dad have the energy to come get you.
4. You can stay up 3 hours between naps now. Sometimes I run of out things to keep you happy. You change what interest you everyday.
5. You are able to do quiet time for 18-20 minutes now. It's mom' savings grace since nap times are now shorter.
6. You stopped taking 2 hours naps. Instead you take 1-1.5 hour naps. Sometimes just 45 min is what you need but mom could use a little longer.
7. Still no teeth but man you bite pretty hard on my finger. You are loving chewing on paper while I look for my coupons.
8. You love being outside. I have made a tradition to going outside and sitting on our picnic blanket every morning since it's too hot during the day. You get really curious about the construction, the cars going by and the trees.
9. You love paper. I usually open up all my coupons on Sunday when I get them, but now I open one a day so you can play with the paper. Daddy hates when I let you chew on it but you are so happy doing it. Dont worry I limit myself to things that won't bleed ink.
10. You started to "reach" for daddy. It's the cutest thing. Daddy just can't resist.
11. You can turn pages like a pro. You like going through a book over and over JUST to turn the pages. You always look up at us like you are trying to say "see what I can do?".
12. You love watching yourself in any mirrow. It's like you found a long lost friend. As a result every mirrow and bathroom mirrow in the house has little tiny smudges of little hands. I don't mind though. It makes the house feel "broken in"

Such a Great Hair Day
Days like these make me so grateful to be a mom. Not only was Sydney a total champ and took great naps, she was soooo happy the entire day. She gets this fascinated look when I have my glasses on. She thinks its hilarious. These are taken rigth after her nap. Her hair gets crazy and she just wanted my glasses so bad. I had to take pictures.
Sydney is suc a joy. Work. Work for sure but so much fun. After work we all went out for a walk. We talked about life before Sydney and the funny things we use to day we would do when we finally had kids. We are such different people. We are much more loving and thanks to God, much more patient than we thought. Sydney brings out the best in us - even when we want to show the worst. So here's to happy days and crazy hair. These are the memories I want to tell her about.

Birthday Party and A New Friend
We went to the Meakins twins birthday party a week a go. Ok So Allison is amazing and made all the stuff from scratch. It was divine. It was great to see members from the old ward. We had a great time. Sydney loved all the new toys. I swear she gets bored so easily with her toys. Old news.
To keep Sydney and myself from going insane we have resorted to giving her pretty much anything that will keep her entertain (except my iPhone. Off limits for sure). I put down our big mirror the other day and Sydney was delighted for almost 25 minutes. She found a new bestie and could not get enough. The next day she wasnt interested but man did it work wonders that one afternoon. See you later best friend.
