Whats in the name...

We hit the temple yesterday - a warm summer day, temple grounds, and lots of sunlight. It was great. We decided to have dinner at the temple cafeteria.

We got there at 7pm and quickly smelled the food. After asking a million questions on how to pay, what to eat, how to order - you would think it would not be that hard?

We decided to share a steak sandwich. It was really good. Two funny things happened:

1. The cafeteria worker came and asked if we wanted some free food - a benefit of having a husband that looks like he is on the verge of anorexia. Wife is nice and plump and they probably think I starve him. Anyway, moving on.

2. After we finished we stood to tell the worker thank you and found out her husband is from Logan. He came to the front and he confirmed he knew the Gerber name. In fact, he knew Tyson's dad! We talked about Gaylan growing up and so forth.

The coolest part was when he asked "so does Gaylan own all of Logan right now". It was a joke that I always say that Gaylan owns half of Logan. The point is that the Gerber name has a lot of assumptions, such as success. Grandpa Gerber, Gaylan Gerber ...they all reached great success through hard work, dedication and determination. Tyson has a lot to follow. I felt really proud to be a Gerber and also a huge sense of need to carry on the name with such respect.

We also got the chance to hang out with Nyla this week. She and Dave were in town doing a church youth project. They retired and ever since they have spent most of the year doing service - Habitat for Humanity, New Orleans, church groups. They are an amazing example to us. We hit Quadoba for lunch and the Cheesecake Factory for Dinner. They were so generous. Thank you Nyla!
