In Love

One of my favorite things about going to Utah was finally being able to meet Elizabeth Geronimo. Steph picked me up from the airport, we picked up some Wendy's and drove to Melynda's house.

When Melynda opened the door and saw Steph she was pretty confused. Then I jumped out of the door and she was even more confused! After the inital shock she was really excited to have me there.

It was so sweet to see her. The bond between me and Melynda is so special. She has been there for every major decision in my life. I would not be the same person without here. I love her so much.

We were able to stay for several hours and just catch up. Melynda looks amazing for having a 2 week old.

I also was able to shower her with gifts of my first sewing project. Check it out below ...

Presenting ...

My new bike! This is a little goal accomplishment :) Saved for months, researched for more. Then when Tyson went to buy it for me at Kmart - it was sold out. IN. EVERY. SINGLE. STORE. IN. COLORADO.

For two weeks we called every store within two hours and we finally found one! We took it home and Tyson put it together. He is the greatest!

My favorite part is that I don't hunch my back when I ride - it started to really make it sore. We already have taken a two hour ride - it was really fun. It's the perfect time since Summer is almost here. It's suppose to be 85 glorious degrees today!

Happy Birthday Jon!

We heart the Scottorn's. They have and continue to teach us so much. When we heard it was Jon's birthday - it was time to celebrate. So what is the fun thing to do on a rainy dark day in Colorado? BOWLING!

Elisabeth Kate Geronimo

My best friend Melynda welcomed Elisabeth into the world. I could not be more excited. I cannot wait to meet her and I just know we will have so much to talk about :)

I remember when we found out she was pregnant - I knew, I mean KNEW that it was going to be a girl. I think technically Marco still owes me a Wendy's frosty.

Cookies & Cuddleing

Last night was one of those nights that seemed to move slowly. We had dinner, I did my coupons and shortly after I decided that we must have cookies - homemade cookies.

I pulled out all the stuff and let my Bosch do the magic. I used mint & dark chocolate chip morsels and the cookies had the yummiest mint taste. Tyson and I did something that was rare - we used our couches! Honestly we don't use or sit on our couches much - usually we sit on the kitchen table, kitchen bar or just hang out in his office. I'm not sure why that is, but it makes sure our couches stay good for a long time.

We cuddled on the couch. Ate cookies. Watched LOST. It was really relaxing.

Few nights ever turn out that nice. Tyson's back was really hurting all night so the microwave was busy busy warming up his rice packs until past midnight.

I think Tyson needs to go to a chiropractor.

We should be getting our insurance coverage this month and will be able to more freely take Tyson to the doctor without so much worry on the budget. It's funny because Tyson has few medical junk to worry about - not his weight or fatigue or cholesterol - but man his lower back is always bugging him. We'll get him taken care of though.

Mothers Day

I love Mother's Day. I love the tributes to mothers - in whatever capacity a woman chooses to be a mother. This year has felt differently as Tyson and I know that that stage of our lives is coming closer. I also feel so blessed because Melynda had Elisabeth on Thursday, so all my thoughts are very much babies right now.

Tyson is sooooo amazing at making days like these amazing. He started out by making me a wonderful breakfast - AND making sure the kitchen was super clean afterwards. I was reading and so many blogs talk about mom's love breakfast in bed but hate the messy everything that follows.

After breakfast we watched several episodes of LOST, got ready for church and headed there.

We arrived in church and I loved our bishops message toward women and how a good mom starts with a good little, loved girl. I loved it.

All the women got roses and chocolate. In RS we ate cheesecake - such a cheap day!

We spent time with Chad and Sugey after. That night we had dinner with Katie and Curtis and I took Katie "coupon shopping" for the first time. It was so sad because we traveled for an hour before we struck gold - but boy did we struck gold!

Over all it was a wonderful day. I think my absolute favorite moment was when I was at Katie's house, I was sitting in her rocking chair, lights dimmed low, Klove in the background and I was reading. I can't even describe how relaxed I felt at that precise moment. I loved it.

Chicken vs Woman

There are people who are amazing cooks. There are also some people who hate cooking. Then there's me.

I want to be an amazing cook but also hate some aspects of it. Mostly touching yucky stuff.

Thanks to modern food production - I can get chicken breast cut, trimmed and frozen. No yuckiness needed. So what happens when Martha is told that cooking a whole chicken is cheaper and better for you? She sends sweet Tyson to buy a whole chicken - which is in fact cheaper. She is excited for her new adventure.

What I was not prepared for is how yucky it feels to touch it. I got up this morning all excited to put the chicken in the crockpot, leave it for 8 hours and have some fantastic dinner when I finished work. I opened the chicken and the book said "take out the neck and clean out the cavity" ... the what? I tried to YouTube this process with no luck. I would try to clean the chicken and then got totally grossed out! Who does this?! I realized that I probably need to have the chicken thaw out a little more - so there you have it. As of this minute my whole chicken is sitting in really cold water to defrost . I am secretly putting touching it off because it felt so gross.

Now I see why people do the whole pre-packaged, pre-cut , pre-gross stuff. I'm not giving up, I just thought it was hilarious that I reacted this way or how clueless I really am when it comes to this cooking thing.

I know I don't suck at cooking, but I am definetly an amateur.
