Story Time & Bath Time
We found a new story time at the Irving Library. The lady that runs it is sweet as pie and she remembers ALL the kids name - there about 30. The entire story time has songs, shakers and two stories. It's amazing the difference that a person can make when they believe in what they do.
It's also been freaking hot! We've been swimming 5 times and lots of baths to keep us cool - Sydney dosen't mind one bit.

Eating Time
I was so scared to start Sydney on solid foods. Mostly because I had this terrible fear that she would stop going poop! We stayed away from cereal and went straight to Gerber food ( lol get it? GERBER food). Well my fears have been put to rest. Our sweet baby how poops TWICE a day and man are they smelly. I'm still glad we waited until she was almost 7 months old but now it's fun to see her making weird faces when we introduce new foods. Like this morning we gave her prunes for the first time. NOT. A. FAN.
But its ok. My whole approach to solid food is taking it slowly and try to make it a pleasant experience. Plus I love seeing her in her high chair :)

Play Date
We are loving play dates. We usually have atleast once a week. Yesterdat we had a playday with Sugey and Izzy. We went swimming. We hung out with the Scottorns the other day. Karynn and Sydney are exactly 3 weeks apart. They are sooo different. Sydney is much more serious as you can tell from the pictures. Karynn is all smiles and giggles. They are so cute together.

Fathers Day 2012
Father's Day was "Awesome" according to Tyson. He woke up to blueberry pancakes, a cute display, Dr. Pepper and a very very happy baby. Could a daddy as for more? We went to church, came home and Tyson relaxed pretty much all day. At 430 we had Sarah and J from our ward join us for dinner. We had ribs, salad, homemade mac and cheese, fruit and brownies. It was divine. We walked around the property and watched some TV.They left by 730.
Tyson had his first official Father's Day this year and what a year it has been. I've been thinking alot about Tyson lately. I knew when I married him that he would be a kick butt husband and he hasn't let me down. He's not perfect - but he tries so hard to be. He's so honest and loyal and kind.
Then came Sydney. Tyson's role changed and I was amazed at how easily he took to it. Tyson is "hands-on" to the core. Right after I gave birth and we stayed at the hospital, Tyson did everything. The only thing he would let my mom and grandma do is hold Sydney (but not very long) He changed every diaper, every feeding, every exam. I was so sick that I could do little but lay in bed. He took charge.
Then we got home and nothing changed. Even though I know he is tired Tyson has never backed down from taking shifts at nights. Even to this day we switch off who gets Sydney in the morning. Even the days that I get her, he wants me to come into the room and Sydney just hang out with us in bed.
Protective as ever - Tyson gets worried when she has the slightest sound of discomfort. He's great at playing with her, reading with her, making her laughs. He loves taking her on walks on the Ergo baby. Every Monday he watches her while at work - some days are great, some not so much, but he still is grateful for the chance.
Tyson has really gone above and beyond, but I'm not surprised. He realizes just how lucky we are to have her. He can't wait to have more.
We really admire a couple in our old ward - Kristen and Darren Johnson. They are fantastic parents and have three great kiddos. I remember one time Darren was watching the girls and someone said "that's nice you are babysitting" and Darren immediatly said "I'm not the babysitter, I'm their FATHER". That has always touched Tyson and he lives by that motto.
He's the best daddy Sydney could ever have.
Lazy Days of Summer
I'm loving the lazy days of summer. It's bee so nice to have sooo much light. Sydney has started to get up at 630 am - yikes. During the winter this will surely not be fun, but I love waking up and the sun blasting through our downstairs window. I'm figuring Sydney is a morning person. She is so delightful first thing it the morning.
Sydney can now go 2.5 hours between waking up and her first nap. So she is now going down around 845 - 9 am. It took us a couple of days to figure her out and what she needed. It's so good to have our sweet predictable baby back.
I'm finding that she loves spending time outside. Daily we sit in our little green lawn chair in the front. Nothing on but the sounds of cars, trees and birds. I love it. I'll take my picnic blanket out there and we will lay underneath the trees.
We go on walks in the mornings before it gets too hot. We hit Story Time atleast once a week. Sydney is in love with two books 1. Colors and 2. Little Bee. She is even turning pages on her own now. She also seems to really like a yellow bear in the Colors book.

Family Times
Sydney continues to be a champ at eating solid foods. Her menu consist of carrots, squash, green beans, sweet potatoes and whatever else I give her. I take the chance to give her small things of things we are eating too. Like on Sunday when we had dinner with Thayne and Annie, they served the most yummy sweet potatoe and chicken soup. It was divine. Tyson had two servings people - so of course I will make it! After we were all done I had a little biit left in my bowl and I gave Syndney a taste of it. She loved it. She has also eating black beans, strawberries, mango, tomatoes .... just little bits of what we eat.
It makes alot of sense to me to expose her to more and more food. Tyson is very picky and this might be my vain attempt to try and make Sydney have a bigger palet for food. It's b

Swimming
We went swimming at the Broomfield Rec Center. Sydney had a good time after a good 20 minutes of warming up. At the end she was kicking and smiling. She had to go totally naked but we got her a swim suit and so now she can be modest.
Yeah for summer!

Gerber Visit In June
Oh man we love when family comes to visit. Debbie and Gaylan drove here to meet Chenille, James, Sophie and Mandolin to start Grandma Camp. We were lucky enough to be smack in the middle so we spent 4 days with them. It was a great time. I loved that they got to see how big Sydney is getting and her personality. Sydney was an absolute trooper. We made sure she got one good nap in the morning and she (mostly) did great with a shorter nap in the afternoon during car rides. She only freaked out once on Friday. She was fantastic. Here is a quick recap of what we did:
Thursday: Ikea, Ice cream and swimming at the Broomfield Rec Center
Friday: Hit Krispie Kreams for "National Free Donut Day" and then hit the Denver zoo. We got to
go to the new "elephant exhibit" and we hit Cafe Rio for Dinner.
Saturday: Story Time @ Barnes & Nobles, crafts, Walmart,
Hung out at home watched movies, picnic outside, McDonalds for dinner
Sunday: Breakfast, church and good byes.
Overall it was fun. I'm slightly disappointed because I went off the bandwagon
and I'm sure have gained 5 lbs, but I loved that the trip was relaxed.
Sydney took a special liking to Grandpa Gerber. She just glowed when he was around. Sophie
loved taking care of Sydney. Cousins are so much fun. Sydney is 7 months now and I am just amazed.
