Secret Obsession

Ty and I have a confession. We love The Office. We always claim that we don't watch TV, which we don't usually, but we own season three and one of the Office and you better believe we will get season four. I got introduced to the office by an ex-boyfriend (another story in itself) and long after we parted, I kept the office in my heart and since I have the coolest husband, we both laugh our heads off whenever we have free time.

I've tried to keep up with the free episodes online, but I've only seen the first three. My favorite part is that Jim and Pam are finally together. The only thing that would top the office is my three favorite shows on HGTV; Deserving Design, Design to Sell, Property Virgins. I love them all!

Supporting the Arts

Looking for something fun to do with the family? Our friend Neil and Sarah helped open up a new dinner theater in Pleasant Groove!
Showtime Utah is a family friendly show that can include a great Western Dinner or just a fun comedy club. The prices are great compared to expensive SLC and its only a short 20 minute drive.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good time:) Martha and I are headed there for our Saturday night date.

Legg Mason Extreme

What a treat! We just finished a 4 hour seminar with Marty Volin, Regional Director for Legg Mason Partners. The 5th largest broker in the USA. Martin Volin works just with Primerica agents and clients. He is absolutely amazing. His story just exposes the unethical doings of other brokers who are more focused on getting more trades than doing what is right for the clients. Marty gave up a huge salary to work just with my clients and to train Ty and I on the inner workings of making money.

My clients were treated to a special course on how the stock market works. How the rich get richer in the midst of a recessions and how investing by emotion will leave you broke and working at Wal mart. I invited all my closest clients and friends, yet sadly most of them did not show up. This makes me sad for them because this is a once-a-year special treat. People let too many distractions keep them from achieving their goals and dreams.

The next day Marty got down and dirty with us, the reps. He taught us how to make our clients happy and ultimately wealthy. He taught us the lying schemes that other brokerages use to rob clients money and so forth. It was amazing!

I'm so thankful for our business. It's amazing what we have available to our clients. We treat regular families like they are worth 1 million dollars! Who else does that?! No one! Primerica is the best company out there.

The Trouble with Jobs

This reminded me of my first PR job at a public relations agency. Does this remind you of your boss?

Jael's Blog

I'm so proud! My little sweet sister has officially joined the blogging world. Mind you there was not outside pressure from me (wink wink.)

We visited Ty's family while Chenille was in town and got to visit with Jael and Steve. They are such a great couple. Steve is so cute with Jael and both just work so hard to make marriage a happy thing.

Check out their blog.

The best piece of advise you learned this past year?
Don't let average people crush your big dreams. Don't spend time with negative people.

Yeah for Tyson!

After nine strong years; our cherished Susuki Sidekick has died. It happened two weeks ago; Ty was driving home on Holladay Blvd and all of the sudden smoke inhaled the inside of the car. Ty pulled over and fully expected the car to combust. Instead, it just died and sat there. Ty and I were bummed that our strong Susuki had kicked the bucket but we were happy that we had used it for as long as we could. Having this car allowed Ty and I to 1. not have a car payment 2. Get good gas milage 3. Have super cheap car insurance and 4. start with a great headstart in our marriage.

I have to say how much I respect Ty for being willing to drive this car. Those of you that have seen it - it was not pretty and frankly it was embarrasing for Ty, but he did it anyway. Instead of whinning and just saying "honey I need a newer car" he sucked it up and made the sacrifice. So here is our memorial to the Susuki. You will be missed.

However, we are excited to announce Ty's new car. After months of research, Ty found a great dealer named Kaisar Auto. We had visited 3 dealers and spent countless hours doing online research. We got to Kaisar and test drove two cars; but fell in love with this car ...

I'm so glad that Ty found this car. He has worked SO hard to save enough money and we paid it off with cash. Our business has been such a blessing; we know money; we know how it works and how to became wealthy! I love that Ty is working to build us a secure future with freedom and real choices. I love what we do and I love that we teach families how to never be in debt again and how to really became financially free.

Conference

Ty and I had a fantastic time watching and listening to General Conference. Saturday we had our PFS training and we got out in time to listen over the radio. Sunday we continued the tradition of "Strawberry and Waffles" in the morning.

My top 10 things I learned this weekend:
10. Pres. Monson can wiggle his ears
9. We are a worldwide church
8. Husbands and wives need to give each other time to do something they love
7. Children are a miracle and need to be treasured
6. We believe in continued revalation
5. Tithing will bless your lives
4. We can't just pray; we need to act
3. Family is the reason why we are here
2. Believe in your personal power
1. I love our new prophet

Sunday afternoon session hit me SO hard. I felt so many little "smack downs" on the things that I know I have needed to change. I'm so grateful for a prophet who guides us. I'm grateful that he is real in every sense of the way. I'm grateful that I have a husband who watches conference with me. I'm grateful for my family. I'm grateful for our business.

Date Night

We had a great date night last Saturday (3.28.08) with Kellen and Paige. While we waited for dinner we walked to Sports Authority and played around their winter and golf equiptment. We ate at the Old Spagethi Factory and I saw Stephanie Smedley;a good friend from high school. After a great dinner we hit bowling.

Final Score
Kellen: 180
Ty: 150
Paige: 125
Martha 83

As you can see, I'm no bowler; in fact, Ty bowled my last two rounds. Much like miniture golf; I have an attention span of 15 minutes :)
