35 Weeks

Wow 35 down, 5 to go baby. This weekend was really cool - we had our breastfeeding class. I won't like and say it was super amazing - it was a little boring, but we stuck it out and Ty was such a good sport. Don't get me wrong it was really informative - but a little boring.

This last week my belly has started to feel realllllllyyy heavy. At night I was able to sleep on my back with a wedge pillow - no longer. Turning side to side hurts. I do my cat/cow position and it hurts to just sit there. I'm finding that I have to carry my belly when I walk. It's pretty insane.

Sydney has also stepped up her movement ferocity. She is kicking and kicking hard. Rather than a sweet little kick here or there, she seems to be rotating her entire body from side to side. I am also feeling tons of movement lower in my abdomen rather than the usual top right of my belly. I had one of our agents mention to me that I looked like I "dropped".

We are getting really excited. Our biggest current project is redoing the rocking chair. We sanded it down this weekend, we will paint it tomorrow and I am getting together with a girl from my ward next week to do the different cushions.

I am loving this stage of pregnancy though.

Last 2 Weeks...

The last couple of weeks have seemed really slow but also fast. Slow in the fact that not much exciting has happened and fast that the countdown to Sydney being here seems to speed up.

I've been busy buying last minute things crazy things like nursing bras and pads, which is pretty crazy. The shopping list is getting smaller and smaller. The funny thing is that we really have bought nothing outside of the necessities and yet it still feels like alot.

We finished our birthing class and we are currently looking for a doula to assist our birth. We are pretty excited to have that extra support and help. We have three interviews this weekend to see if any of these doulas are a good fit for us.

Last night Melissa and I went to Safeway to redeem a raincheck on ground beef for $1.69 per lb. I bought 20 lbs and Melissa got 10 (which is funny because she has a family of 5 and then it's just me and Tyson :) Well we got back to Melissa's place and realized we were missing 8 lbs. So we called Safeway and sure enough we forgot the meat at the store! oh man talk about pregnancy brain.

I've been so tired. Everyone says that right before you give birth you have this "surge of energy". Maybe it just means that Sydney won't come for a while since I am sooo tired and struggle to even cook the ground beef I bought last night.

I've started packing for the hospital. I worry that I will forget something but I hate hate hate packing too much. I also feel like I am rambling - probably am. Ok. I'm done.

34 Weeks

At 34 weeks life is slowling down. I'm tired all the time, the nausea continues and my mouth taste sour - like I just woke up. Doesn't matter how many times I brush my teeth, the nasty taste keeps coming back.

I have started packing my "birth bag" as instucted by our class doula. She suggested we pack three bags - two for me and one for Tyson. I'm hoping to only pack two bags - one for me and one for Tyson because I do not want to walk into the hospital like I am moving in.

We are also trying to possibly find a doula to help us at our birth. We are in love with doulas ever since going through our birth class at the hospital.

Thankfully I don't have not experience any swelling of my feet or hands. My hair is growing really long and I am tempted to just chop it off - but I will probably regret it later so I am holding off. Sydney continue sto kick really hard. At church yesterday Tyson said it was like her whole body was pushing against his hand.

Stroller

Well with less than 6 weeks to go we finally got a stroller system. It's funny because this one single thing caused soo much stress. You worry about the quality, price, and just overall function of the system. We returned three systems to poor babies R us before we finally decided on this one.

Graco Snugride 35 Mosiac stroller system - the Logan Collection.

The things I love about this system are:
1. The car seat is really long and nice
2. The colors are gender neutral
3. The stroller is lighweight and super easy to fold up and down

We took the car seat to Melissa and Jon's house and we practiced putting in and out a doll - this was an assigment that our Doula gave us during our birthing class. We have also been preparing our "birthing bags" since she said it could come sooner than we think and we need to be prepared.

Baseshop Boating Trip 2011

We had our annual boating trip with the Scottorn basehops. We went September 9th, which was a friday and made the day so much smoother. No lines, no other boats and the weather was still perfect. I even have the sunburn to prove it :)

We went to Cherry Creek Reservoir - which is in the smack middle of Denver - its actually a really cool location because you can see the high risers from the lake. Our morning started really early - 5:15 am but it meant Tyson got a ton of time on the tube, knee board and wake board. We were there until 6 pm. My favorite part was just hangin out on the beach and feeling the warm sand. It was sooo relaxing. We got home around 7 pm and we were soo tired. I was burned pretty bad on my shoulder so Tyson had me put vinegar so draw out the pain - it actually worked really well. We were in bed by 9:30 and ready for our early 8 am training the next day.

Birthing Class

Tyson and I attended our 2nd day of Birthing Class. It was really intense but fun. They had us put our hands in water and had our coaches walk us through a minute of pain. I thought I sucked and was a wuss - Tyson said he was so impressed and that they other girls never lasted the full minute like I did. We had 8 stations of different pain management techniques.

I'm so grateful for the education I have available. I can't imagine how my mom or grandma did it. They are sooo amazing. We have two more classes for birthing, then a breastfeeding, CPR and Happiest Baby on the Block class.

32 Weeks

32 weeks are here. I was told that the last two months fly by - I agree. Maybe it's because I am so busy really trying to get our finances ready, getting the last of our stuff ready, paperwork for work and all the birthing classes - its a busy time. It's a fun time too.

I'm feeling bigger and bigger but thankfully I can function. I did my three hour glucose test and the results came back - I'm not diabetic and I'm so happy to know that. I'm still really tired. A couple of days ago I went to bed at 8 pm and slept the full 13 hours - it was amazing. I'm happy to report that I am not swelling but every part of me feels bigger. My appetite goes up and down. Sometimes I'm really hungry, other times I don't want to eat anything.

Food I am loving are: PB&J Sandwiches, fruit, rice and beans, more fruit. I am also loving juices more, although I am still 95% water during the day.

I have gained 29 lbs and should gain 5-6 more by the time Sydney comes. Part of me is mortified by this seemingly huge weight gain - but the other part of me knows I have watched my food intake, continued to walk and do weights and that my body will do what it wants to do. My OB says my weight is great and that I don't need to change a thing.

Labor Day

Labor Day weekend was pretty chill. It started off Saturday with a surprise birthday party for Kristen Johnson in our ward. She is not only an amazing cook - but super intelligent and lived in Japan. Her husband send out an email and arranged for a huge party at the park for her 30th birthday. We had sandwhiches, two types of cakes and chips! It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

After the party Tyson and I had an "after party" with Allyson and Ben Meekem. We watched Unstoppable and talked about babies. Sunday I woke up feeling really sick - the whole week has been pretty bad for me. I honestly laid around in bed and my rocking chair all morning. Tyson made me lunch and we headed off to church. After church we headed to a BBQ for our new recruits. We had a wonderful time with Cheryl and Keith's family. She has such an amazing story.

After the BBQ we headed to the Scottorns and we attempted to go on a walk, but by the time they got dinner ready it was pretty late. Tyson stomach started hurting around 10 so we left soon after. We got home and Tyson took a bath and read outloud to me.

Work today has been pretty slow, so I've had to time to do mundane things - like reorganize my pantry, looking for things to purge and doing coupon sales. Tyson is busy all day getting ready for our SVP Steve Stonebraker to come out and speak to us next week. It's gonna be big! We got our tickets and we are selling out big to it. The Scottorns are also selling out to it - they are great.
