My sweet hubby was born. Today is a day to celebrate the man of my life and although I didn't do anything creative I have realized some amazing things that make my Tyson one-of-a-kind.

1. Even thought it is his birthday, he is meeting clients, studying for his securities test and being a stud. This is amazing in so many levels. Tyson knows the kind of life he wants and it willing to work hard now, to have it secured later. I just love him for this.

2. Tyson is acting nice to me - on HIS birthday. He cleaned the bed and made sure our Internet is up and running. He is so considerate to others needs.

3. Tyson is profusely grateful for every little thing he gets. He is so grateful for the Happy Birthday text es and phone calls. He never expects people to do something - he is amazed by it all. That is the quality of a good man.

4. I'm amazed at all the things Tyson has done in his life. While most guys play, Ty is working and studying and building our future. I just can't say enough about Ty's work ethic. He is just UNBELIEVABLE!!!(Can you tell I love my boy?)

I could go on an on ... if any of you have a sweet comment about Ty, please post. I want to put them on my next blog. Thanks for all your love and support.

So I'm not really crafty ...

But I do appreciate a well decorated home. My ward hosted a craft day and although it's not really my thing I thought "why not?" So I signed up for three projects; however when the day came I did not have enough time to do all three. I called my mom. She not only came to my rescue but we actually had a lot of fun doing the crafts. My mother is amazing and anyone who meets her for more than 10 seconds absolutely falls in love with her. Not only does she look like my sister (I pray I get her genes) but she just is the image of sweetness and strength. Someday I will write in my blog about my mom. I wish the world really knew how amazing she is.

We arrived at the church house, had yummy soup and bread for a light dinner and started our craft adventure, OK so it was a stick-and-peel project but that was a big step for me. The result. Awesome plates and a happy mom.

Date Night

Tyson surprised me to a fantastic date night in Park City. I love Park City. Great food, cool shops, better air quality - there are so many benefits to Park City. Tyson and I have have learned to love car rides. It truly gives us a chance to talk and just be with each other. We jumped in the car but had to turn back when Tyson convinced me how cold I would be after 5 minutes; he was right. So once we got my jacket we were off, again. Thanks to Gary we found a free, yes free parking spot right next to main street. We visited several galleries, appreciated art and felt super trendy. We ate dinner at Main Street Noodle and Pizza - so yummy and ridiculously expensive. We ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and watched a hunting show on the big screen TV. After dinner we walked some more and realized how slow Main Street was. Regularly a Friday night is buzzing with excitement, but that night it was kind of mellow- which is perfect for locals like us.

We left Main Street and headed to the Outlet Malls. Silly me, hoping to find some fantastic deal- found nothing. On the other hand we watched a Bose Promotional Movie that almost brought me to tears - dang strategic marketing campaign!!!

Overall we drove home totally content and grateful for our blessings. We are so blessed. I am so excited to our future - filled with amazing places, people and goals.

Jolley Party

John Jolley got married on Saturday. I grew up with Jon and my little bro's and his little bro's were best friends - even though both families thought they were bad influences. Eight years laters, they are still inseperable but now both of our families love them.

Ty and I rushed to make the reception. It was awesome. We saw so many people from my old ward. They could not be happier for the continued success Ty and I had and will continue to have. We ate food and got down when the music came on. My favorite part was watching my four-year old nephew start to "breakdance" although it looked like he was having a combustion. Andrew was darling. Congrats to John! We love you.

Bleeding Blue

We by far have the coolest friends. Not only are they supportive, but expose to awesome memories. Example, Lori and Steve Weinberger. True blue Californians with a passion for music and hip beyond compare. They have not only remodeled their new house and introduced us to Prison Break, but they invited us to a BYU football game.

**note: I don't like football, even when I was at the U, I only attended 5 games. Most of the problem comes from not understanding what is going on. Trust me, Ty has tried and tried to explain it. Doesn't stick. **

Besides being cold, the game was fun. Call me a geek but my favorite part was the band. I use to play in the band (don't hold it against me)and reminisced how fun it was to play at games. We would stay warmer because we moved so much. BYU won and I almost memorized the school anthem song .. rah rah rah rah rah .. ah dang it, I forgot it again.

Thank you Lori and Steve. Ty had a blast and I got to eat my favorite hot dog treats.

p.s. we all agreed that being the flag dancers does not mean you were a cheerleader reject - but we would still never become them.

Short Lived ...

So much for addicted. My new favorite blog is about to be discontinued. I guess I don't blame Cordy. It's hard to live life and write witty commentary all at the same time. I'm bummed though. She was so intertaining. I actually think she should write a book and use her talent. Oh well, I guess I better start reading another book :)

On another note, I want to take a moment to remember my first big trade. I want to remember how great it felt to help a great family and to manifest that I am just at knowlegadeable as any Morgan Stanley, Fidelity or any other brokers out there. This great family had actually met with several other advisors but picked me. I was so excited. I spent hours and hours doing research and paperwork and when all was said and done - I was left with a big smile. It's day's like these that make me realize just how good I really have it.

I'm addicted to reading a blog. I warn you that once you start reading this blog, you might miss all your future enrichment nights. I found My Super Hopeless Blog, two weeks ago through my friend Thora and cannot stop reading it. Not only is "Cordy" a fantastic writer, but it's feeling that same pain that makes dating so bad in the first place. Throw in the whole "in-love-with-best-friend" thing and you are hooked.

It's almost as if I'm reliving my days of "I like him, but he likes another girl and she likes another guy". Only problem is that I hope they end up together, but this is not a best selling fiction story. This is real. Cordy almost screams what heartbreak is. She is awesome. So there you go. You are fully warned. Now go get hooked.

Food Storage

To keep the record straight I don't consider myself the cookie cutter house wife. I don't scrapbook, make amazing meals or ever have unbelievably coordinated accents in my home. That being said I am strick on food storage, which I thought had to have a direct correlation with the above. Glad I'm wrong. It all started when Ty and I first got married. Our ward is preparedness 101 and it has fired me up. My state just happens to be earthquake central, oh and did I mention we are due for a major earthquake, oh 50 years ago. So I'm looking to prepare NOW. The hard part is 1. I have no idea where to even begin. Luckily Debbie came to my rescue. She really exposed me to canning and doing food storage that fits your family. Within the last 6 month Ty and I constructed our 72-hour kits and have purchased 300 lbs of food storage; rice, eggs, oats, bread mix, muffins, butter, cheese, milk, hot cocoa, cereal, soup ... etc. Besides the pain of canning it and then storing it in our two bedroom condo, I feel a deep satisfaction and relief for being prepared. Our stake held a preparedness fireside today with great info.

1. 1/8th tspn of pool cleaner is better to clean water than Clorox.
2. Water left in an area for too long will taste like it's location.
3. Kerosene is better than propane - no carbon monoxide fumes

It was awesome. Ty and I are still planning but below are some pics of our food storage.

ps. who would have I thought butter and cheese would have a 30 shelf life?

Straton and Lauren

What a fantastic day. We were so lucky to be part of Strats and Lauren's wedding. We started the party with a classy dinner at Hamilton's steak house. It was kept intimate with immediate family only, so the setting was perfect to really get to know Lauren's family. Her sister's are darling and their husbands are so funny. A funny experience was having our waiter ask Straton "Are you from G2?" We all burst out laughing.

We had an early morning on Saturday and drove down to the Bountiful Temple. It was so neat to see Strat that morning. Excited yet prayerful. This was the biggest day of his life. Always calm and cool, Strat reminded me of Tyson on our wedding day. He wanted things to go just right. Lauren looked great when we met at the temple and off they went. It was tender to see them holding hands and walking in. Debbie, Ty and I walked around until it was time for the sealing. The sealer was hilarious and yet was respectful of the sacredness of the ceremony. I am not a cry er but I could not help and remember our wedding - so many emotions. I am so grateful for Ty. He is my perfect match. Strat and Lauren looked absolutely radiant when the came back out.

After the wedding, all the girls headed to get a bite to eat. We heded back to Logan and set up for the reception. The food was really good and they even had a jazz band - a big hit. We were able to clean up and head home by 9 pm- although it felt like midnight. Congrats to the happy couple. They are headed for such happy times.
